Any difference in healing when gettign ears pierced with sterling silver earring?
Just wondering if, if I chose to use my own earring [sterling silver] when getting my earlobe pierced tomorrow, if it will affect the healing process in any way compared to your standard ‘gold’ ring piercers supply you with?
I’ve had my lobe pierced with the standard a few years ago and had to take it out due to the length of the ring (I have thick ear lobes) being too short and causing my lobe to be ‘pinched’ etc.

I would use gold. Its an open wound while it is healing and the nickle that is in the sterling silver could cause an infection, or irritation. Use gold for the first 8 weeks then you can switch to whatever you like!
